Children's Choirs
Sonshine Choir
Age 4-Kindergarten
Sundays, 6:30-7:30pm 

The Sonshine Choir is our older preschool choir, ministering to older four year olds and kindergarteners. There is a special emphasis on bringing biblical stories and characters to life through crafts and music.

 
  
Music Makers
Grades 1-3
Sundays, 6:30-7:30pm 

Activities are the name of the game in this choir for grades 1-3. Basic music and spiritual
concepts are taught in fun and exciting ways involving movement and instruments.
 
Music Makers is directed by Nita Roff.


Young Musicians Choir 
Grades 4-5
Sundays, 6:30-7:30pm 

The last stage of the Children's Choir journey, the Young Musicians choir seeks to meet the continuing developmental needs of 4th-5th graders as they transition into the Youth Ministry and the Chapel Choir.

The Young Musicians Choir is directed by Sandra Russell.
 
 
 

Orff Ensemble 
Grades 1-3
 
 
Carl Orff (1895-1982) was a German composer who was greatly interested in the musical education of elementary school children. He developed a curriculum of training centered around simple yet high quality percussion instruments. Based on Orff's concepts and instruments, the Orff Ensemble provides members of the Music Makers choir an introduction to instrumental music and working together as an ensemble.
 
 
 
 
 
Why Children's Choir?
The skills and habits we learn as children are with us for the rest of our lives. Perhaps more importantly, the view of the world we establish in our early years shapes the way we live our lives.

Why is Children's Choir important?
  • Music is an extremely powerful and expressive art
  • Music is biblically and historically an important aspect of worship, establishing community, and self-discovery
  • All children have musical potential
This is why we have committed choir leaders who devote themselves to Children's Choirs: they know the impact it can have on our youngest faith-journeyers!
